of the passing of L.Z. "Pete" Fletcher
founder of Pete's Road Service in Fullerton, CA (USA)

We at RTA are privileged to have Pete's Road Service, Inc. as an RTA Member
since our beginnings in 2011. We mourn for their loss
and we offer our deep condolences to the Fletcher family.

To all our valued customers and suppliers,
It is with sadness in my heart to announce the passing of our founder.
Graveside services will be family only. A celebration of life is planned in May 2021.

On Friday January 15, 2021 at 4:30 PM, our founder and company namesake, L.Z. "Pete" Fletcher, with family at his side, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 94 years of age.

Born in Clinton Oklahoma on May 21, 1926 Pete came to California in the early 1930's during the Great Depression, where he and his family worked as itinerate farm workers picking cotton and oranges. Pete served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, as an infantry combat soldier in Northern Italy. When he returned he married the love of his life, Clara May David, November 1947 and had three sons; David, Jim and Glen.

With ten thousand borrowed dollars as a down payment on an abandoned Alamo gas station at the corner of Blue Gum and Coronado streets in Anaheim he started Pete's Road Service, Inc in January 1969 with Clara and his three sons (19, 16, 14). The only thing that kept us going in the early years was his sweat, determination and perseverance, more it seemed than any one man could possibly possess 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Pete's was built on hard work, good service and good products that we stand behind. Always striving to be a value to our customers and our suppliers with honesty, integrity and independence. The values of Pete survive him today with the third generation owners, operators and management of Pete's Road Service, Inc. To our customers thank you for your business. To our suppliers thank you for your support.
