Although we enjoyed Chris Fiffie's video," ...A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING...", we take exception to his negative statement about retreaded tires. The facts counter his negative statement, especially when one considers that millions of retreaded tires are successfully being used every day on thousands of trucks in North America and other parts of the world.

The safety and reliability of today's top quality truck retreads equals that of the best new tires, and at a far lower price, saving truckers millions of dollars every year. In addition, retreads are far more environmentally friendly than comparable new tires.

Tires, both new and retreads, fail and come apart because of improper tire maintenance, with the main culprit being underinflation, followed closely by overinflation, mismatching of tires in dual wheel positions, poor tire repairs and a number of other factors. To blame a retread for road gators on our highways is the same as blaming a vehicle for an accident caused by a drunk driver. The blame is simply misplaced.
