SOME GREAT NEWS!

From our friends at

RTA Member Marangoni Tread North America

Earlier this month, our good friends at Marangoni Tread North America
took the bold step to create a petition
that requests President Trump to appoint a new commissioner
to fill the vacancy at the U.S. International Trade Commission.

We in the retread industry, thank Marangoni Tread North America
and all who signed the petition!

This was just announced and we're sure that Marangoni's efforts have helped to make this a reality.

President Donald J. Trump Announces His Intent to Nominate

Jason Kearns to Fill the Vacancy at the

US International Trade Commission

Madison, TN (June 28th, 2017)

President Donald J. Trump has announced his intent to nominate Jason Kearns of Colorado to be a Commissioner of the United States International Trade Commission for the remainder of a 9 year term expiring December 16, 2024. The White House's announcement is consistent with the petition supported by the retreading industry and initiated by Marangoni.

While the retreading industry's push for the naming of the ITC commissioner --- highlighted by a petition drive on the White House's "We the People" site and sent to 25 trade magazines, media outlets worldwide, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, USITC, 11 US Senators & Representatives, 50 plus newspapers across America and over 35 national talk show hosts --- can't be linked directly to the President's decision, the drive raised positive awareness of retreading and reinforced our collective goal of saving our natural resources as well as our precious environment.

The petition drive was linked to the industry's desire to see the U.S. government reconsider an investigation into the perceived damage to the U.S. truck tire manufacturing and retreading industries from low-priced/low-quality Chinese imports, an investigation that the ITC turned down after initially finding cause of imposing elevated antidumping and/or countervailing duties. The lack of a full complement of six commissioners created an environment that eventually led to the investigation's demise after one commissioner switched votes.

Retreading good quality truck tires is just one way we can transition from the current linear "take, make and dispose" extractive industrial model and move into the circular economy where it is restorative and regenerative by design.

The petition was signed by numerous members of the retread industry as well as many interested parties supporting environmentally responsible positions as well as favoring free and fair trade.

Marangoni would like to thank all those who faithfully support our industry and implore all retread industry members to continue to promote, support and defend the commercial truck tire industry as an important contributor of environmental and economic responsible action.

Thought for the day

"A grateful and generous heart
is like a magnet.
When you take the time
to acknowledge the abundance in your life
and share the wealth,
you attract even more blessings
and reasons to feel grateful.
In this way,
receiving and giving
creates a circle of energy
that serves us all."
