We wanted to let you know about a new petition we created on We the People on behalf of all of us that are in retreading and related industries. We need your support! If this petition gets 99,999 signatures by June 25, 2017, the White House will review it and respond! If this petition gets enough support, the White House will issue an official response.

We request President Trump to appoint a new commissioner to fill the vacancy at the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Over sixty thousand U.S. jobs in the retreading and related industries are being threatened as a result of the February 22nd, 2017 ruling by the U.S. International Trade Commission not to impose tariffs on truck and bus tires produced in China. One member of the Commission who had voted in the affirmative during the preliminary hearing recused himself in the final determination case. The absence of this commissioner undoubtedly impacted the final determination. The final vote was 3 negative to 2, not to impose and a 3 to 3 tie vote would have led to tariffs being affirmed. Retreading good quality truck tires provides us with a huge environmental benefit by conserving our precious raw materials such as oil, steel, rubber and carbon black.

We have 498 signatures as of this morning and sure could use the help of all of your members from around the world.
Anyone! (Friends, Dads, Mothers, Aunts, Uncles and etc...) can sign it and no one can see who signs the petition (not even me) just in case they are worried about it."

We applaud our good friends at Marangoni who have taken the bold step to help bring this situation to light.

What the petition does: This petition asks Presiden Trump to appoint a new commissioner to fill the vacancy at the U.S. International Trade Commission. By doing so, if the issue of the lack of tarriffs on the massive influx of Chinese tires into the US was re-addressed, the Commission could take another fair and comprehensive look at the imbalance and harm caused to the retread industry by this practice.

By signing and helping to distribute this petiton you remain anonymous, and you are merely asking for some attention to be paid to the troubling practice of tire dumping in the US, which costs US jobs and financial chaos in aspects of the tire industry that needs to be addressed. Even if you are NOT a retreader, or if you are a new tire manufacturer who imports into the US, remember this; Our great tire industry is founded and maintained on cooperation between the many businesses and companies who contribute world-wide to keep the flow of new tires intact, and the retreading, repair and recycling of these tires helps all of us to do that. We've got each other's back. We care what happens to you and your business, and we need to support each other in times good and bad.

What the Petition doesn't do: The Petition does not address the direct need for tariffs to be re-instated. It merely asks for the matter to be addressed and evaluated, for the benefit of all aspects of the tire and rubber industries.

What you should do: Sign the petition and forward the link.
Share it with everyone you know and help us get to the 100,000 signatures required just to get a response from the White House

Deadline is June 25, 2017 and more than 99,000 signatures are still needed. Please do your part and help! Time is running out!

This is just one step in the process of addressing this issue, but it is a significant one, and your help and input is needed and appreciated.
