As Fuller Brothers celebrates our 60 year anniversary next month, the thought came up to share the attached article written by Mr. John Fuller 41 years ago discussing the importance of protecting the tire from the inside, plus a few paragraphs below bringing it to 2022. We are hoping you could help us celebrate and send this out to the members.
John Fuller, the creator of the company, Fuller Brothers Inc. and its flagship product Tire Life wrote this article in 1981, that's 41 years ago! In fact, Fuller Brothers and Tire Life are 60 years old this year. For those 60 years, Tire Life has been protecting tires of all sizes and operations. It does this by protecting the original state of the inner tire rubber providing less air loss, preventing oxidation and rust and helping to keep the tire running cooler. All of these factors help with the original tire performance but in this case by preserving the casing for maximum retreadabilty. Keeping the proper air pressure for the specified load is paramount for any tire's performance both as an original, and for multiple retreads.
With the use of Fuller Brothers Tire Life, a good maintenance program, selecting the proper tire for the application, and the use of TPMS, any fleet can realize huge rewards and a fantastic return on investment!
What Mr. John Fuller wrote 41 years ago was very important then, but is even more important now in 2022 with the expected performance of tires with improved tire design.
With the cost of tires being what it is today, expectation and warranty of new tire manufactures in the times each casing can be retreaded, and truck technology design improvements for performance and fuel economy, Fuller Brothers Tire Life can only enhance any efforts by tire dealers and fleets to improve their overall tire budgets.
In the article John speaks of "hucksters", these are those that have only copied or counterfeited Fuller Brothers Tire Life. Back in 2009 the idea of a "dry" chemical formula came onto the market. Many customers began to ask questions about this idea as a way to save money on freight cost. The Fuller Bros.' sales team addressed our customers two main concerns:
1) Is it safe for our tire techs to handle raw chemicals? and
2) Are there liability issues associated with our tire techs mixing on our customer's property?
The sales team responded quickly by saying "We also need to mention that handling any type of concentrate is more hazardous than handling a finished product, especially in powder form when you have no control over the environment. And you are correct to be concerned about product liability risk"
Over the 60 year history Fuller Brothers has backed up the claims with extensive and expensive testing, no other copy cat has produced or proven they have done the same. There are new tire and wheel manufacturers who endorse the use of Fuller Brothers Tire Life in their tires and for their wheels. In fact there is one major tire manufacturer who purchases Fuller Brothers Tire Life directly, recommending and installing it in all the tires they sell and service.
