"DRIVING INNOVATION TO DRIVE MARKETS"
Thank You to our Event Delegates, Speakers, Sponsors and Exhibitors for a
Successful 2014 Symposium! See you in 2016 for our Next Symposium!
A successful 2014 Symposium draws together a large audience of international experts. It is quite hard to believe that after weeks and months of planning, our
biennial Symposium has quickly come and gone.
Our 2014 Rubber Recycling Symposium was held this year in Montreal, Quebec, and in addition to a beautiful city complemented by a great venue, our event went off without a hitch— drawing in delegates from all across the globe for an excellent three days of learning, thought-sharing, and networking.
We would like to thank our key partners and this year's host sponsor, RECYC-QUEBEC, for their involvement in our event and for diligently working alongside the Association in the planning and coordination of our event. It was a pleasure and a
privilege to partner with RECYCQUEBEC for a second time in our Symposium's history.
In addition, the Tire and Rubber Association would like to thank its many devoted sponsors and exhibitors who were involved in this year's event. It truly goes without saying that without your involvement, it would not be possible to carry out our Symposium in the same capacity as we are able to, thanks to your generous contributions.
Thirdly, we would like to thank our many, many speakers who travelled from all around the globe to provide their much-valued knowledge to our various panels. The expertise provided by our dedicated and knowledgeable industry leaders truly
was the most rewarding component of our Symposium, allowing for well rounded
discussions on matters affectingthe rubber recycling industry from a global perspective.
Finally, we would like to thank our many delegates for attending our event. We hope you not only enjoyed the networking opportunities, but also found each of our event's panels to be informational and useful for you and your organization.
Thank you to everyone involved in this year's successful Symposium.
Every year, the caliber of our event grows and expands, and we were quite pleased this year to have drawn together the international audience
that we did. We would love to hear your feedback on our event. Please take a moment to complete a quick five-question survey; all of the insight we receive is
valuable to us in helping to improve our Symposium operations. The survey can be accessed here: https:// www.surveymonkey.com/s/T9MKR9L
The early results from the online survey supports what we anticipated: delegates very much appreciated hearing directly from tire manufacturers on their efforts to promote sustainability and participate in end-of-life tire discussions. In addition, as
the Symposium went along, it was clear there was a "knowledge transfer" happening between the recycling community and tire manufacturers, each learning from the other. It was a powerful exchange which hopefullywill carry forward for the collective betterment of the industry. If you attended our event and have not received a copy of the speaker presentations that were distributed, please email us at info@tracanada. ca and we will be happy to address
your requests.
We hope to see everyone in 2016 for our next Rubber Recycling Symposium and we are looking forward to seeing where our industry will take us over the next two years!

We might say it every year, but that won't stop us from saying it again: when you can see your breath, it's time for winter tires.
We, the people working in the tire and automotive industry, might very well know—and likely even have it instilled in our minds—that winter tires perform best at 7 degrees Celsius and below. But as the fall (and pretty soon, winter) months start to roll around, we ought to remember that not every motorist in Canada knows this.
In fact, when TRAC carried out its annual winter tire campaign in early November last year, one thing we heard consistently was how unaware Canadians are of when exactly they should equip their vehicles with winter tires. But with the temperatures now dipping below 7 degrees Celsius, the time is now. If we want Canadians to be proactive and have their vehicles equipped with winter tires in time for the first big snowfall, we need to remind them now.
In an effort to remind consumers about installing winter tires, and to educate drivers who believe they may not need winter tires, TRAC is conducting its annual Winter Tire Media Outreach Campaign this November.
Our week-long, Canada-wide campaign will—as it does every year—educate drivers on importance of using winter tires during the cold weather months by highlighting the safety and performance benefits of winter tires.
Our campaign will also highlight some new statistics from TRAC's 2014 Canadian Consumer Tire Attitudinal Study, which collected information not only on what Canadians think of winter tires, but also how many drivers are using winter tires during the winter months.
We kindly ask you to help us generate awareness about the safety and performance benefits of winter tires. If you would like some resource tools to help promote this important information, please don't hesitate to give us a call—we have the information, tools and resources you need to help drive this important information home.
Stay tuned for more information, as we will be launching our Winter Tire Campaign across Canada beginning on November 17! A look inside our 2014 Rubber Recycling Symposium
