Hello, GDT driving enthusiast!
 
So it has come to this… a Green Diamond Tire - Kickstarter campaign to raise just a bit more of the capital required to complete the launch of a new, USA-based (Colorado) manufacturing plant.  This approach via Kickstarter is intended to close a small financial gap and to establish with certain Colorado state and local agencies the viability of the GDT product… one worthy of their various incentive programs.  At issue is GDT-NA is considered a 'start-up' even though GDTs have been produced under license in Europe and Scandinavia since the late '90s.
 
There is much backstory to how we reached this point, beginning with the implosion of the Icelandic economy throughout 2008-2009 and the extremely tight capital that has been sidelined since that time.  Believe me, I have approached banks, VCs, Angel Investors, High Net worth individuals and anyone that would listen.  While successful to a degree with a handful of revered financial backers, the aggregate amount raised was inadequate for the class and size investment required to manufacture GDTs in the USA.  If you have even an inkling of interest in another set (or your first set) of GDTs, I implore you to visit the Green Diamond Tire - Kickstarter campaign and pledge whatever makes sense for your situation.  While on the site, you will notice that I have built in rather generous 'rewards'… especially at higher levels of pledge.
 
Once the campaign is completed, we will secure the property, complete the larger capital raise process and be in manufacturing by 2nd quarter of 2015.  Once in production, we will deliver more sizes and greater quality GDTs to our loyal customers and to those that that have expressed interest, yet were unable to attain them due to either lack of availability or sizing considerations.
