OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 31, 2016) — Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has donated $25,000 to support the relief and recovery efforts of the Salvation Army as it works to assist those affected by the flooding along the Louisiana Gulf Coast.

"At the Salvation Army, we believe it takes an army of generous, loving people to help their neighbor in a time of need. It takes individuals, it takes families, and it takes corporations like Love's to stand together with the Salvation Army so we are 'doing the most good' for those who really need it," said Maj. Roy Johnson, general secretary for the Salvation Army's Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi Division.

"We truly appreciate Love's and all its employees for the generous donation to help the relief effort."

To support those impacted by the historic flooding, the Salvation Army has prepared more than 78,000 meals, 87,700 drinks, 15,600 snacks, 9,300 food boxes, 8,100 clean-up kits and 8,000 comfort kits.

"Our hearts go out to those affected by the devastating floods in Louisiana," said Jenny Love Meyer, Love's vice president of communications.

"Our customers, employees and communities mean the world to us, and they have all been impacted significantly by this disaster. We're honored to be able to help in the relief and recovery efforts along the Gulf Coast.
