Hello Folks,
Please find below my recent article as published in the current Tyre Trends magazine.

"When organisations (and bean counters in particular) consider tyres, the usual habit is to examine only purchase price.  This more often than not results in gross losses. Tyres need to be consider holistically, what is the result of buying cheap, cutting corners on vehicle maintenance, ignoring the tell-tale signs the in service tyres are displaying are all part of successful tyre management. By viewing tyres in a holistic manner the many aspects of the operational philosophy can be determined, and usually there are many positive benefits to be gained.

An in depth study (TNO 2013 R10986 will find it on the interweb) in Europe of heavy commercial vehicles outlined the many savings that could be generated, not only on the balance sheet but also for social and environmental outcomes as well. Just this week, Highways England released a report evidencing that 1 in 5 motorway incidents were tyre related, that is 20% of incidents that could be greatly reduced or dare I say even eliminated. (If you can't find that report ask, I will forward a copy)

If you have trouble appreciating just how tyres influence the bottom line just ask, there is a wealth of material available. I am happy to support you in order to provide your clients with superior service.
