GIANT RETREADS MEAN GIANT ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS

At the recent Tire Industry Association (TIA) Off The Road (OTR) Tire Conference in Puerto Rico, the consensus from a distinguished panel of representatives (from Bridgestone, Double Coin, Michelin and Yokohama tire companies) all agreed that retreading will continue to increase for OTR tires of all sizes, because of the environmental benefits offered by retreading, as well as the savings it offers to the end user.

"The environmental benefits of retreading giant tires are enormous, as well as the dollar savings. Plus the safety and performance of retreaded giant tires has been proven beyond a doubt. For anyone with a serious interest in recycling tires, retreading is truly recycling," according to a representative of the Retread Tire Association.

 "They may look big and round and black, but they are really big and round and green!"
